Escobedo, Ben

Anaheim, CA – Presidio welcomes Ben Escobedo as its Senior Vice President for Advocacy & Campaigns. Based in Presidio’s Anaheim office, Ben will spearhead the firm’s advocacy and campaigns practice throughout California and the Southwest. He brings more than 20 years of deep and varied experience in the mechanics of winning at the ballot box and advancing his clients’ agendas on Election Day. Ben was instrumental in flipping California’s then-39th Congressional District in 2018 and in successfully challenging the incumbent in 2016’s most contested California State Assembly race.

On the local level, Ben has guided many candidates in tough races to Election Day victories, including the Los Angeles County District Attorney and dozens of mayors, city council members, school board members, and water board members throughout California. In 2022, he posted a 92% win record.

Ben is a natural strategist with an innate understanding of California’s complex politics inside and out of the Democratic Party, as well as the fundamentals of persuading voters,” said Danny Fierro, CEO of Presidio. His empathy for and attention and dedication to his clients is second to none, and I look forward to supporting him in building a campaign practice that aligns with our values of client service and integrity. Ben has built extensive relationships throughout California and the Southwest and will bring his clients a deep understanding of how to achieve their goals.

Before joining Presidio, Ben founded 2M Strategies, a campaign consulting firm specializing in direct mail, digital marketing, and consulting that achieved a spectacular series of victories in 2022. 2M Strategies will continue as a subsidiary of Presidio. Previously, Ben served as Vice President at Bergmann Zwerdling Direct. There, he acted as lead consultant and strategist for top congressional, legislative, and local races across the western United States.

I’m excited to join the dynamic, committed team that makes Presidio what it is,” said Ben. “I wanted to work with a team that shared my values and dedication to providing truly world-class service to its clients – growing slowly and deliberately so we can keep our promises. I understand the trust candidates give us when they run, and for years I’ve dreamed of building a practice that truly acknowledges the faith our clients put in us. Presidio already has an outstanding team of professionals, and I look forward to working with them to help our clients engage in the electoral and political processes.

Ben’s background includes expertise in direct mail, messaging, community outreach and strategy. Throughout his career, he has run successful campaigns for Assembly Majority Leader Eloise Reyes, Congressman Gil Cisneros (ret.), L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón, and Alhambra Councilwoman Sasha Renée Pérez. He has also served on the staffs of or advised Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, Congresswoman Grace Napolitano, and California State Assembly Member Mike Eng.

Ben lives in Whittier, California, with his wife and two children. Ben volunteers his time with several nonprofit organizations that promote higher education. He is passionate about building a bench for future BIPOC political staff and elected officials. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from National University.
